Almost every hi-sec mission-runners run mission for SOE, because they have the second best LP store available in hi-sec. The first best one belongs to the 2 corps under the Thukker Tribe faction. https://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/lpstore/buy/10000002/1000163 Look at this, their LP are worth more than 2k/LP at Jita BUY price. This seems very good, but...
First, it's not very easy to get the standing for those 2 corps. You have to actually grind it because Thukker Tribe faction has no epic arcs, no career agents, no circle missions, no data-centre missions... And it has negative standing with almost all other factions. But if their LP is really as good as it looks, these efforts should be worth it.
Here comes the main problem GÇöGÇö the actual lv4 security agents. The Thukker Mix corp has 2 lv4 security agents, both in 0.8 systems. Though SOE's LP isn't as worthy as their LP, but it has 2 lv4 security agents in 0.5 systems, where they give you more LP (and isk) for the same missions. So after the discount because of higher system security status, you may not get more isk/mission or isk/hr doing missions for them than for SOE. (Though I haven't really calculated it.) The Trust Partners corp has 2 lv4 security agents, both in 0.6 systems with a true-sec between 0.55 and 0.6, so the discount isn't very great. But those 2 systems are in a constellation with 3 low-sec among 7 systems. So you'll get about half of your missions in low-sec, and if you search on the zkill-board you'll see people hunting mission ships there. It probably won't be a great problem for the usual mission runners, because declining half of the missions won't hit your standing very great. But for the blitzers aiming at more than 200mil/hr, who would already decline most of the missions, declining more missions might hurt the standing to an extend where the agent wouldn't talk to you any more, and then you'll have to go back to Lanngisi (thankfully it's only 6/7 jumps away).
Also I don't know about the actual mission locations of these agents. The main reason why Lanngisi is preferred above Apanake is that you get most missions within 2 jumps in Lanngisi, while the agent in Apanake usually send you 7 jumps away to deal with the burners. If these agents also tend to send you far away for missions, then obviously they're not good choices.
I just got enough standing to run lv4 missions for Trust Partners, and haven't ran any so far. Can somebody who has ran missions for them tell me whether it's really better to run missions for them than for SOE? |
